Steve Nash Youth Basketball
This program is for intermediate-level athletes ages 7-12 that includes our 4-on-4 youth house league. Considered as a recreational division, this program is a great way for athletes to develop their skills and gain more understanding of the game in a fun, friendly, and competitive way. Young athletes can also use this as an opportunity to prepare for DAREtoLOVE’s competitive Rep team if they choose to further advance their skills and training. In partnership with Canada Basketball, welcome to the Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program delivered by DAREtoLOVE Sports Club
Recreational/SNYB (for ages 7-9, 10-12; 90 to 110 minutes per week)

- Focuses on developing FUNdamental skills, confidence and character
- Promotes Long-term Athletic Development (LTAD)
- Progresses to recreational house league and possible competitive development
Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) is a Canadian-based basketball program that is focused in helping youth ages 7-12 develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship and a love for basketball. SNYB also focuses on the FUNdamentals and Learn-to-Train stages of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model.
SNYB Objectives:
- Participation: Provide youth ages 7-12 opportunities across Canada to play basketball
- Development: Develop young athletes in alignment with the Sport Canada LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development) Model and stage-appropriate drills and games
- Progression: Serve as an entry to the Canada Basketball developmental pathway and encourage athletes to pursue high performance opportunities
- Character Building: Help participants to maximize their potential, using basketball as a vehicle to develop character and life skills
